Taipei Music Academy & Festival - 2025 TMAF Orchestra Concert
The Taipei Music Academy & Festival is dedicated to unlocking young musicians' potential through intensive training by concertmasters of top orchestras and world-renowned musicians, resulting in remarkable performances. In 2025, the TMAF Orchestra, led by maestro Fabio LUISI, will perform WAGNER's Rienzi Overture, R. STRAUSS' Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, and TCHAIKOVSKY's Symphony No.6, Pathétique.
Continuing a cherished tradition, faculty will sit alongside students, providing hands-on guidance and creating music together. As TMAF marks its seventh year, it remains committed to bringing world-class masters to Taiwan, fostering a high-caliber musical environment, and offering young musicians the chance to learn and perform closely with celebrated artists.

Grammy Award-winning Italian conductor Fabio LUISI is Music Director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra (DNSO), and Principal Conductor of Tokyo's NHK Orchestra. He is also Music Director of Puglia's Festival della Valle d'Itria, Emeritus Conductor of Turin's RAI National Symphony Orchestra, and Honorary Conductor of the Teatro Carlo Felice in his native Genoa.
Taipei Music Academy & Festival Orchestra
Founded in 2019, the Taipei Music Academy & Festival Orchestra comprises all faculty and students participating in the Taipei Music Academy & Festival (TMAF). Under the artistic direction of internationally acclaimed violinist David CHAN, TMAF invites world-class maestros and exceptional musical talents to Taiwan for instruction and collaboration. Young musicians from around the globe are selected through a competitive audition process to engage in two weeks of intensive training and touring, guided by an expert faculty team. Distinguished conductors who have led the TMAF Orchestra include Jahja LING, Kent NAGANO, Leonard SLATKIN and Fabio LUISI. The orchestra has performed to critical acclaim at prestigious venues, such as the National Concert Hall in Taipei, the National Taichung Theater, the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), Chimei Museum, Frost Amphitheater at Stanford University, and the Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Touring annually during the summer, the TMAF Orchestra has become one of the most significant music events in Asia in recent years.
