Weaving the Scenery of Growth: Into the Fantasy of Nutcracker Special Exhibition
►[House Program] Weaving the Scenery of Growth- Into the Fantasy of Nutcracker Special Exhibition
Inspired by The Nutcracker, The Ballet Concert: Into the Fantasy of Nutcracker continues Weiwuying's Ballet Trilogy Project launched in 2023. Choreographer and playwright YEH Ming-hwa reimagines the classic tale through the lens of Taiwanese childhood, tracing a girl's journey from school days to adult life, and the lessons, setbacks, and challenges that shape her along the way. Blending dream and reality, the trilogy follows her gradual transformation as she stumbles, learns, and grows, her story becoming ever more entwined with that of the Nutcracker.
The exhibition design echoes the dance's narrative, unfolding across three interconnected zones that present the creative dialogue among the choreographer, dancers, and costume design team.
"Adventure Studio" draws inspiration from the making of ballet costumes, revealing the moment when dreams first begin to take shape.
At the "Courage Stage", craftsmanship and dance come together, reflecting the refinement of both skill and emotion.
Finally, "Growing Tree" looks back on this three-year creative journey through sketches, videos, and traces of artistic development, like thriving trees of life that document every courageous step of growth.
